House soft wash

The right method for your walls, eaves and fascia.

Soft washing uses low-pressure water and carefully selected cleaning solutions to remove biological growth from exterior surfaces without the force that causes damage. It is the correct method for painted walls, rendered surfaces, timber weatherboards and delicate architectural details.

High-pressure cleaning applied to the wrong surface strips paint, forces water into render and damages timber grain. Soft wash achieves a deeper, longer-lasting clean without those risks.

What builds up on your walls

Algae, mould and lichen take hold in shaded and moisture-prone areas, leaving green and black streaking across render and weatherboards.
Biological growth traps moisture against surfaces, accelerating deterioration of paint, render and timber over time.
Dirt, pollution film and spider webbing reduce the appearance of even well-maintained properties.
Salt air deposits on properties near the coast increase the rate of surface degradation if not treated regularly.

How we treat your home

We assess wall surface, material type and the extent of biological contamination before selecting the appropriate solution. The cleaning agent is applied at low pressure, allowed to treat the surface, then rinsed thoroughly. No guesswork, no shortcuts.

Correct solution selected for surface type — render, paint, timber or cladding
Low-pressure application safe for delicate surfaces and window seals
Biological growth treated at root level for a longer-lasting result
Gardens and fittings protected throughout

The result

  • Walls, eaves and fascia cleaned to a consistent finish
  • Biological growth removed, not just rinsed
  • Protected surfaces without excessive pressure
  • Before and after photos provided
  • Result that holds noticeably longer than pressure washing alone

Common questions

Will soft washing damage my plants or garden?

We protect garden beds and plantings before we begin and rinse the surrounding area thoroughly after treatment. The cleaning solutions we use are selected to minimise environmental impact.

How long does a house soft wash take?

Most residential properties take between two and four hours depending on size, surface condition and the extent of biological growth. We confirm the expected duration when we quote.

How often should I have my house soft washed?

For most Sydney properties, once every 12 to 18 months maintains the surface well and prevents biological growth from becoming established. Properties in shaded or moisture-prone positions may benefit from more frequent treatment.

Is soft washing safe for painted surfaces?

Yes. Soft washing is specifically the preferred method for painted and rendered surfaces precisely because it does not use the pressure levels that strip paint or damage render.
